Services Provided Include

Digital Radiography

Digital Radiography allows our veterinarians and staff to more quickly diagnose, manipulate, send and receive x-rays to a specialist if needed. The speed of this system allows more comfort for our pet patients and their owners. Digital radiology allows us to consult with boarded radiologists on every case, ensuring that you receive an accurate diagnosis and that we develop the best treatment plan for your pet’s condition.

In House Lab Testing

In house lab testing allows for the onsite emergency testing necessary for quick, accurate results. We are able to screen for blood-borne parasites, check kidney and liver function, do a complete blood count, even positively identify some viral infections through antigen testing… all within 7 – 15 minutes. We have a full suite of diagnostics available to us because we value your pet’s health and your peace of mind.

Soft Tissue Surgery

We offer soft tissue surgical procedures to ensure the health and well-being of your pets. Our team specializes in a variety of procedures, including spay and neuter services for both dogs and cats. These surgeries are essential for preventing unwanted litters, reducing the risk of certain health issues, and promoting longer, healthier lives for your pets. At Animal Hospital Southwest, we are focused on providing the highest standard of care, and our professional staff ensure that your pet receives the best possible treatment and post-operative care.

Video-Otoscopy

Chronic ear infections are one of the most commonly seen problems in dogs. Ear infection can also be seen in cats, but less frequently.

Animal Hospital Southwest is one of very few veterinary hospitals equipped with the most advanced tools and training to diagnose and treat pet ear infections. One of these advanced tools is video-otoscopy, which enables us to look inside the ear and closely examine the inner ear canal.

If your pet is shaking his head or scratching his ear, chances are he has an ear infection. Head shaking can also lead to a hematoma, which can only be remedied by a surgical procedure. In short, keep your pet ear infection-free as these can lead to more serious and painful conditions.

Orthopedic Surgery

Animal Hospital Southwest is partnered with an Orthopedic Surgeon who offers the latest orthopedic surgical techniques and procedures to get your pet back on all fours. From repairing an anterior cruciate ligament tear to repairing broken bones, we’re here to assist with facilitating any orthopedic surgery need.

Ultrasound

We offer the latest in Ultrasound technology at Animal Hospital Southwest. Our doctors have the ability to examine every pet with ultrasonography to help diagnose and identify any internal organ issues and recommend treatments for your pet.

Laser Surgery and Therapy

We perform both traditional and laser enhanced surgery options daily. Surgery for our patients is performed with utmost comfort and safety. When performing surgery, we use only the highest quality anesthetics available to provide that extra margin of safety. All anesthetized patients are monitored by a Veterinary Technician from the moment of induction until they are fully recovered. We also monitor each surgery patient’s heart and respiratory rates, EKG (heart rhythm), body temperature and arterial oxygen levels (using pulse oximeters).

We are also pleased to offer Cold Laser Therapy, a therapeutic process that reduces inflammation, manages pain and assists the healing process in soft tissue. Cold Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and helps accelerate the healing process. It can be used on our pet patients who suffer from a variety of acute and chronic conditions in order to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and increase functionality.
